A Feeling – A Relationship

Mace-kselomal (“s/he starts to love”)
“But it’s not just me. It’s something that is happening to others. I see it in your eyes, I hear it in your questions. I know when you attend events like this, asking those same questions. My lineage goes back thousands of years. But your 400 years, it’s really starting to get to you, isn’t it? It’s important. Listen. Pay attention. It’s all around us. Messages coming from everywhere. And by the way, it’s enjoyable and have fun” – Sakom (Chief) Hugh Akagi
For the Peskotomuhkati, restoring the Bay is a love story, a love story about a specific place and its living things, all peoples, all beings, and the way they work their way into your heart.
Here’s where you come in. For that love story to unfold in the amazing way it should, benefitting everyone in the region:
- Passamaquoddy Bay must be restored
- The Peskotomuhkati people, the traditional keepers of the Bay, must be restored to their position as decision makers in their homeland.
These two restorations, the Bay that feeds us all and the people that care for the Bay, will make restoration possible for all of us. We are all connected.
